How do I make money with SellFolio?
Applicability: SellFolio
4.0 Complete and SellFolio 3.0 editions
Many of our customers have asked us about what other customers are
doing to make SellFolios for clients, and make money. Here’s some
anecdotal info that may help you make more $$$ with SellFolio…
How much can I charge a client for a SellFolio project?
We have had many customers tell us they are charging $100-$500 for a
SellFolio project, with most being in the $300-500 range. Of course,
this can vary widely with the amount of work involved,
customization, size, and integration with existing websites, domain
names, etc. It is possible that with SellFolio 4.0 Complete’s new
powerful Flash creation features, the fees you can charge for a
project can certainly increase well over $500.
What types of clients are requesting SellFolio projects?
Generally, our customers report doing SellFolio projects for other
entrepreneurs and small businesses, like real estate agents,
lawyers, IT firms, restaurants, retail shops etc. A good idea is to
scan your town and contacts for small businesses and entrepreneurs
who would like a more unique and professional website.
Are clients requesting websites or CDs or both?
It seems that most customers are primarily requesting websites, but
more SellFolio users are reporting doing both web and CD versions
for clients. It seems that in some instances, the client realizes
the benefit of having identical content on both website and CD for
handout.
What color schemes seem hot with customers?
Many clients are choosing color schemes that are classic, such as
navy, maroon, etc. However, within the context of the type of
business, you may want to choose colors that suit the business, such
as red and green for a pizza parlor vs. dark brown and light blue
for a trendy bistro. In most cases, your clients will have a special
color already in mind.
Can I upload to my client’s site, and use their domain name with
the SellFolio website?
Luckily, you can easily do this with SellFolio by uploading the
client’s project, and then contacting their domain registrar to
register a pointer.
What are customers requesting?
We’re seeing a rise in the use of embedded FLV video and SWF and the
ability to launch a variety of file types, like PPT, PDF, DOC, etc.
